Privacy Policy
Deconstruct Sun is made by Andrew Harrell. This policy explains what the app does and does not do with your information. The short version: your data stays on your device.
The short version
Deconstruct Sun keeps your data on your device. Your sites, coordinates, skylines, and photos are stored locally and are never uploaded to us. We run no ads, no analytics SDKs, and no third-party tracking, and we sell nothing to anyone.
What the app stores (on your device only)
- Sites: the name, latitude/longitude, and obstruction skyline you create for each spot.
- Photos: images you capture or import to trace over. They are copied into the app's private storage and removed when you delete the photo or the site.
- Settings & purchase status: your preferences and whether Pro is unlocked.
All of the above lives in the app's local storage on your device. It is not transmitted to us and we cannot see it.
Device permissions
- Location: used only, and only when you request it, to fill in a site's coordinates. The coordinates are saved as part of that site on your device; your location is not tracked or transmitted.
- Camera & Photo Library: used only to create the photo backdrops you trace the skyline over. Images stay on your device.
- Motion sensors: used only to level the camera against the horizon during capture. No motion data is stored or sent.
Purchases
Pro is a one-time in-app purchase processed by Apple. To unlock Pro and restore it across your devices, our payments provider RevenueCat processes a randomly generated purchase identifier and your entitlement status. It does not receive your name, your sites, or your photos. See Apple's and RevenueCat's privacy policies for how they handle transaction data.
What we do not do
- No advertising and no ad networks.
- No analytics or usage-tracking SDKs.
- No selling, renting, or sharing of personal data.
- No accounts, and no cloud copy of your sites or photos.
Children
Deconstruct Sun is a general-audience utility and is not directed to children under 13. It does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update the date above and the published page. Material changes will be reflected in an app update.
